Fiction Friday!
This week, the books aren’t hot off the sticker-adding press, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t amazing.
Angel Isle by Peter Dickinson: The sequel to The Ropemaker, this fantasy has 24 corrupted magicians, a hunt for a long-lost savior, and some dragons thrown in for spice.
Yellowcake by Margo Lanagan:  If you’re concerned about not having enough time for reading with school starting, try this collection of beautiful short stories.  Pay special note of ‘Ferryman’.
The Mockingbirds by Daisy Whitney:  ‘A secret society of students dedicated to righting the wrongs of the student body’ in a boarding school?  Secret boyfriends?  I would have read it even if the story hadn’t been so amazing.
Life: An Exploded Diagram by Mal Peet: Love meets the Cuban missile crisis with a British bent.
